Working with projects through all the phases from initiation to implementation.
Writing documentation (ie, impact analysis, data definitions, technical design specifications, operations manual, test plans).
Working with various vendor operating systems and environments.
Querying and analyzing data sources to design logic data transformations
Continuous integration in a SQL environment
Provide project management / leadership experience as required
Provide thought leadership:
writing and publishing blog posts etc. on the technical realm
public speaking/presentations at architect forums / conferences etc.
teaching in any capacity
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or Statics preferred.
5 or more years of experience in BI architecture, which could include ETL or Database development
3 or more years of Data Warehouse design / Analytics Systems design
Proven competency in data warehousing development and performance tuning in enterprise environments.
Background in requirements gathering for data projects (at least 3 years of experience)
Knowledge and experience in Kimball Data Warehouse Methodologies
Experience with TOGAF enterprise architecture framework
Knowledge of Metadata driven development (i.e., code generation and automation)
Project management / business analysis experience an asset
Excellent client facing skills
Proven success in architecting one or more BI systems (data warehouse, analytics, big data)
Excellent communication skills are mandatory; along with tact and diplomacy as the role requires communication with individuals and teams at all organization levels.
Ability to travel.
